I’m a pretty opinionated person, and I don’t often give out praise or kudos as much as I should.

We recently worked with a eVelocity-Technical Consulting for our Cisco VOIP implementation and they did an outstanding job.

We did the deal direct with Cisco, and they pointed us to these guys. Some of them I know as former Cisco folks from years past, who decided to to leave Cisco when the tide turned.

I gotta tell you, they know their stuff. Jason Diegmueller did the bulk of the implementation and training. Other than a small incident with a Catalyst switch, ios and DHCP (sorry Jason, had to put that in there) everything was simply kick ass.

So if you need your network fixed, and you aren’t going to do it yourself. Or if you tried to fix it yourself and now it’s really screwed up. Give these guys a call.

Oh, and don’t hold their dot.com name against them, I think that was Joe’s idea.

MySQL 5 Almost Ready?

Ken North writes a great review about MySQL 5 here

MySQL 5 is nearly ready for prime time, if not already. It’s probably the most widely used freebie DBMS out there. I like where it’s going. But don’t expect it to remain free.

Something tells me as soon as it gets good, and I mean real good, it will no longer be free.

You see, there is no money in free software, and that’s the problem. :D

“What operating system do you use?”
“Emacs huh? OK…”
“What version?”
